A practical review of Durex Tropical Flavors condoms, covering taste, texture, and when they're a fun choice for oral or vaginal sex.
Quick answer
Durex Tropical Flavors condoms come in banana, apple, and strawberry, each with a matching color and a sweet scent. The taste is mild and pleasant, making them a good choice for oral sex or adding a playful twist to vaginal sex. They are lubricated and made from standard latex.
What do Durex Tropical Flavors taste like?
Each condom is flavored to match its name: banana, apple, and strawberry. The taste is light and sweet, not overpowering. It's designed to make oral sex more enjoyable, but don't expect a strong candy flavor. The scent is also mild and fruity.
Are they safe for vaginal sex?
Yes, Durex Tropical Flavors condoms are made from standard latex and are lubricated, so they work for vaginal sex too. However, the added flavor and color may cause a slight difference in sensation compared to unflavored condoms. Some users find the taste and smell linger during intercourse, which can be either a plus or a distraction depending on personal preference.
How do they compare to other flavored condoms?
Unlike some novelty flavored condoms that use artificial sweeteners that can cause irritation, Durex is a trusted brand with consistent quality. The flavors are subtle rather than intense, which some people prefer for a more natural experience. If you want a stronger taste, you might need to look at other brands, but Durex offers a reliable balance of flavor and function.
Frequently asked questions
- Do Durex Tropical Flavors condoms expire?
- Yes, like all condoms, they have a shelf life. Check the expiration date printed on the wrapper. Durex condoms typically have a 5-year shelf life from manufacture. Always check the date before use.
- Can I use them with oil-based lubes?
- No. Latex condoms should only be used with water-based or silicone lubricants. Oil-based products like vaseline or cooking oil can break down the latex and cause breakage. Stick to water or silicone lube for safety.
- Are they suitable for people with latex allergies?
- No, these condoms are made from natural latex rubber. If you or your partner have a latex allergy, look for polyisoprene or polyurethane condoms instead. Avoid if you have a latex allergy.
